Hear from leading experts on how hate spreads\, why conspiracy thinking takes hold\, and what each of us can do to recognize\, resist\, and respond to antisemitism. \nModerator: Mark Weitzman is a member of the official US delegation to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) where he chaired the Committee on Antisemitism and Holocaust Denial and the Working Group on Holocaust Museums and Memorials. \nPanelists: Tal-Or Cohen Montemayor is the Founder and Executive Director of CyberWell and a global expert on digital antisemitism. Mike Rothschild is a journalist and author of Jewish Space Lasers: The Rothschilds and 200 Years of Conspiracy Theories known for his deep research into antisemitic conspiracy theories and modern extremist movements. Anna Merlan is an investigative reporter specializing in conspiracy culture and extremist communities across the United States.

SUMMARY:Public Program: Croissants & Conversation - Prayer for the French Republic [SOLD OUT!]
DESCRIPTION:A fascinating look at the true history behind NJT’s St. Louis premiere production of Joshua Harmon’s Prayer for the French Republic. Taking place in 1945-1946 and 2015\, the play follows five generations of a family in Paris who survive the Holocaust only to face new threats seventy years later. Dr. Dorian Stuber will provide an overview of the history of Jewish life in France\, focusing on the years leading up to and following World War II. He will also share the stories of some of those in our own St. Louis Jewish community whose family history connects them to France. Coffee and croissants will be served. \nDr. Stuber is the dramaturg for Prayer for the French Republic\, as well as Emeritus Professor at Hendrix College and member of the Missouri Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission. \nPrayer for the French Republic runs from April 16 – May 3 at the Jewish Community Center’s Wool Studio Theatre. SUMMARY:Public Program: Lest We Forget Film Screening & Panel Discussion
DESCRIPTION:As part of the Lest We Forget exhibition\, on display at The District from April 16 – May 3\, join the Museum for a screening of the documentary Lest We Forget\, which explores the creation of the exhibition. The film follows German-Italian photographer and filmmaker Luigi Toscano on his journey to meet Holocaust survivors and capture their powerful portraits. Following the screening\, stay for a panel discussion featuring Luigi Toscano; Dee Dee Simon\, Chair of the Missouri Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission; and Oskar Jakob\, a local Holocaust survivor whose portrait is included in the exhibition.\n\n\n\n\nAfter the panel\, a 2:00 pm bus will depart for a guided tour of the exhibition at The District with Luigi Toscano. The bus will return to the Museum at approximately 4:30 pm. \nBus tickets are $22 and include transportation and a boxed lunch. Tickets must be purchased in advance. Space is limited — reserve now to secure your spot.
