The next film in the Sandra and Mendel Rosenberg Sunday Afternoon Film Series will be Glickman, screening at 1:00 pm on August 27 in the Holocaust Museum’s theatre in the Jewish Federation Kopolow Building (12 Millstone Campus Drive). This powerful documentary paints an illuminating picture of Marty Glickman. Prevented from competing in the 1936 Olympics because of his Jewish faith, he overcame prejudice to forge a remarkable career in sports, setting the gold standard for athletes and sports broadcasters past, present and future. This 2013 film, directed by James L. Freedman, will screen in English, with a running time of 88 minutes.
Introductory remarks and a post screening discussion will be facilitated by Andrew Goldfeder, Manager of Programs and Logistics for the HMLC. Films in this Sunday series are free and open to the public, although reservations are required.
