“Voices of the Generations” will be the focus of a lecture by Julie Kohner on Thursday, February 22 at 7:00 pm at Congregation Shaare Emeth. Julie Kohner’s presentation, Voices of the Generations, teaches about the Holocaust through its impact on one family and the experience of her parent’s, both survivors, Hanna and Walter. The presentation includes the screening of a 1953 episode of the television program, “This Is Your Life,” featuring Hanna Kohner, the first time a Holocaust survivor ever shared her experiences on national television.

Julie Kohner has been a Jewish educator for over 30 years. After Julie’s mother, Hanna, passed away in 1990, Julie began to create educational programs to honor the victims and survivors of the Holocaust. This was the beginning of Voices of the Generations, a unique and personal approach to Holocaust education. Julie Kohner has presented Voices of the Generations for the past 26 years. It has been presented throughout the United States, as well as Canada, Europe and Australia.

The presentation is open to the public and free of charge. Seating is limited, reservations are required. For further information or to RSVP, please contact Andrew Goldfeder at 314-442-3711 or AGoldfeder@JFedSTL.org. Light refreshments to follow program; dietary laws observed.
