Early this past Saturday morning, Beth Israel Temple in Jackson, Mississippi, sustained significant damage as the result of an arson attack. While we are grateful that no injuries were reported, the damage to sacred spaces and several Torahs is deeply distressing.
The St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum stands in solidarity with the Jewish community of Jackson and with Jewish communities everywhere. Acts of antisemitism such as this are not isolated incidents; they echo historical patterns of hatred and violence that culminated in the Holocaust.
We must reject hatred, promote understanding, and inspire change by standing together and condemning attacks such as this.
