Museum personnel will be working in conjunction with the state Holocaust Education and Awareness Commission, Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, National Churchill Museum, and Midwest Holocaust Education Center to stage the conference at the University of Missouri–Columbia.
The institute is intended to serve 40 middle and secondary public, private and parochial teachers whose responsibilities include history or literature covering modern world history, persecution and/ or genocide, cultural awareness, teaching tolerance, or the human experience in general.
The Holocaust Museum is a department of the Jewish Federation of St. Louis. The Holocaust Commission was established under Governor Matt Blunt in 2006.
