The Holocaust Museum and Learning Center (HMLC) welcomes Ben Fainer, Holocaust survivor, for an Educators’ Networking Reception on Thursday, February 5. This event, open to those in the field of education throughout the St. Louis Metropolitan area, will take place at Jewish Federation’s Kopolow Building at 12 Millstone Campus Drive. A networking reception with wine, beer, soft drinks and heavy hors d‘oeuvres at 4:30 pm will be followed by a presentation with Ben Fainer at 5:30 pm. Dietary laws observed.
Ben’s story is unlike any you’ve ever heard. Ben Fainer spent the entire war as a Nazi prisoner, surviving for six years in six different camps. After losing his mother, three siblings, and over 250 other relatives in the Holocaust, Ben was liberated by American soldiers while on a final death-march in the spring of 1945. Ben didn’t just survive, he thrived. He was able to put his tragic childhood behind and live an incredible post-war life.
