The next film of 2015 in the Sandra and Mendel Rosenberg Sunday Afternoon Film Series will be God On Trial, screening at 1 pm on April 26, in the Holocaust Museum’s theatre at Jewish Federation of St. Louis Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive. This powerful, thought provoking film portrays a group of Jewish prisoners in Auschwitz who put God on trial, in absentia, for abandoning the Jewish people. They question if God has broken his covenant by allowing the Holocaust to happen. This 2008 film has a running time of 86 minutes and will be screened in English.
Introductory remarks and a post screening discussion will be facilitated by Rabbi Yosef Landa, Regional Director, Chabad of Greater St. Louis, who will use this film as a leaping off point for a discussion of faith and reason from a Jewish perspective. Films in this Sunday series are free and open to the public but reservations are requested. To RSVP or for further information, call 314-442-3711 or email AGoldfeder@JFedSTL.org.
