The next film in the Sandra and Mendel Rosenberg Sunday Afternoon Film Series will be Hitler’s Children, screening at 1 pm on August 30, in the Holocaust Museum’s theatre at Jewish Federation of St. Louis’ Kopolow Building, 12 Millstone Campus Drive. This fascinating documentary film portrays the struggle of family members of Hitler’s inner circle with the burden of a family legacy and surname identified with the horrors of the Holocaust. Hitler’s Children, directed by Chanoch Ze’evi and produced in 2011, will screen in some German and Hebrew with English subtitles, with a running time of 83 minutes.
Introductory remarks and a post screening discussion will be facilitated by Brad Prager, Professor of Film Studies and German at the University of Missouri-Columbia. His publications include After the Fact: The Holocaust in Twenty –First Century Documentary (2015) and an edited volume entitled Visualizing the Holocaust: Documents, Aesthetics, Memory (2008).
