FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum Launches Free Virtual Classroom

ST. LOUIS, MO (February 17, 2025) – The St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum is proud to announce that its full suite of Virtual Classroom resources is now available for free to educators, students, and lifelong learners. Designed to provide accessible, high-quality Holocaust education, the Virtual Classroom offers expert-led video lessons covering key historical topics, media literacy, antisemitism, and practical tools for confronting hate today.

The Virtual Classroom was developed to meet the growing demand for Holocaust education, especially in states like Missouri and Illinois, where Holocaust education is mandated in public schools. These resources serve as an invaluable tool for teachers, students, and anyone looking to deepen their understanding of the Holocaust and its relevance to the present. These materials provide important insight into historical and present issues, and they are most effective when paired with a visit to the Museum, providing a more immersive and comprehensive learning experience.

“The lessons of the Holocaust are more relevant than ever, and ensuring access to quality education is critical,” said Myron Freedman, Executive Director of the St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum. “By making these resources free and available to all, we hope to provide educators and learners with the tools they need to understand history and take action against hate.”

The Virtual Classroom was made possible through a grant from the Rubin and Gloria Feldman Family Educational Institute.

Available Virtual Classroom Videos Include:

  • Overview of the Holocaust – A concise primer on Holocaust history, ideal for introducing the topic.
  • Top 5 Questions About the Holocaust – Answers to common questions that help learners understand key aspects of the Holocaust.
  • Countering Online Misinformation – A guide to recognizing and combating false narratives and propaganda in today’s digital landscape.
  • Antisemitism – An exploration of the history and evolution of antisemitism and its continued impact today.
  • Roles & Perspectives – An examination of the choices made by bystanders, resistors, collaborators, perpetrators, and victims, offering insights into moral decision-making.
  • How to Listen to Testimony – A discussion on the importance of survivor testimony and how to engage meaningfully with firsthand accounts.
