Pop Up Exhibit: Triumph of the Spirit: Jewish Athletes Before, During, and After the Holocaust

On Display: July 23-September 14

The St. Louis Kaplan Feldman Holocaust Museum is proud to present Triumph of the Spirit: Jewish Athletes Before, During, and After the Holocaust, a traveling pop-up exhibit that celebrates the power of sport and the resilience of Jewish athletes in the face of unimaginable adversity.

Developed by JCC Chicago’s Growing Hope initiative and featuring reproductions of rare memorabilia from the collection of Neil Keller, this exhibit tells the stories of Jewish athletes whose achievements—before, during, and after the Holocaust—served as acts of defiance, perseverance, and pride.

From world-class Olympians to local sports heroes, Triumph of the Spirit reminds us of the human capacity to overcome hate through courage, identity, and community. This special exhibit is free with Museum admission and will be on display in the Museum lobby from July 23 through September 14, 2025.

Traveling Exhibition: The Artist Who Captured Eichmann

image of st louis holocaust museum visitors

This 45-minute self-guided exhibition tells the compelling ventures of Peter Malkin, an artist and Mossad agent who, during a three week mission, helped apprehended Nazi war criminal Adolf Eichmann in Buenos Aires in 1960. Malkin used pages of a South American travel guide to sketch and paint artistic creations that reflect the chronicles of his endeavors.
