About This Program
2025 marks the 30th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, Bosnia and Herzegovina. As part of a series of events this spring and summer, join the Museum in partnership with the Srebrenica Remembrance Coalition for a panel discussion with scholars and survivors of the genocide. The genocide in Srebrenica was the culmination of a three and a half year process of aggression and genocide against the Bosnian people.
Our speakers include; Dr. David Pettigrew of Southern Connecticut State University, Hasan Hasanović, Head of Oral History at Srebrenica Memorial Center, Elvedin Pasic, Bosnian Genocide survivor, Elvir Ahmetovic, Bosnian Genocide survivor and moderated by Armina Osmanovic whose family is from Srebrenica.
Medical Lecture: Genocide, Nazi Medicine, & Postwar Justice

About this Program:
Join the Museum for a medical lecture by Dr. Michael Emmett about the role Nazi physicians played in carrying out the Holocaust, the post war trials of several physicians, and the impact of US medical experiments on those trials.
Dr. Emmett is the Chair Emeritus and senior advisor of the Department of Internal Medicine at Baylor University Medical Center in Dallas, Texas. Dr. Emmett was born in the Bindermichel Displaced Persons Camp (near Linz, Austria) on October 29, 1945. Most of his extended family and his sister had been murdered by Ukrainian Nazi collaborators. His family emigrated to the USA when he was four years old, eventually settling in Philadelphia.
